Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray close by.”


But you, when you pray, enter your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.


In the morning, rising up a great while before sunrise, He went out and departed to a solitary place. And there He prayed.


When He had sent them away, He departed to a mountain to pray.


Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened,


But He withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.


In these days He went out to the mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God.


As He was alone praying, His disciples were with Him. And He asked them, “Who do the people say that I am?”


About eight days after these sayings, He took Peter and John and James and went up onto a mountain to pray.


But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
