Because Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, he was doing so and teaching the statutes and judgments in Israel.


“I, even I Artaxerxes the king, issue a decree to all the treasurers of the province Beyond the River, that whatever Ezra the priest, scribe of the law of the God of heaven, should request from you, you should do it with all diligence—


this Ezra went up from Babylon. He was a scribe skilled in the Law of Moses, given by the Lord God of Israel. Because the hand of the Lord his God was upon him, the king granted him all his requests.


As the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, so he who wins souls is wise.


The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but not so the heart of fools.


The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters, the wellspring of wisdom is a flowing stream.


The mandrakes give forth their fragrance, and over our doors are all choice fruits, both new and old, which I have stored up for you, my lover.


A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things. And an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.


Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all of these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”


When Jesus finished these parables, He departed from there.


Therefore I send you prophets, and wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute them from city to city,

by which, when you read it, you may understand my knowledge of the mystery of Christ,


To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,


And you also learned of Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ for you,


Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.


He must not be newly converted, so that he does not become prideful and fall into the condemnation of the devil.


holding firmly the trustworthy word that is in accordance with the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort with sound teaching and to convince those who oppose it.
