Will they not teach you, and tell you, and bring forth words out of their heart?


The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright will deliver them.


A man has joy in the apt reply of his mouth, and a timely word spoken, how good it is!


The heart of the righteous reflects on how to reply, but the mouth of the wicked spews out evil.


A tongue of healing is a tree of life, but perversity therein is crushing to the spirit.


O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.


Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe who is discipled for the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is master of the household who brings out of his treasure new and old things.”


Even so, every good tree bears good fruit. But a corrupt tree bears evil fruit.


A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bears what is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bears what is evil. For of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.


Let no unwholesome word proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for building up, that it may give grace to the listeners.


Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.


Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you should answer everyone.
