Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.


yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, eventually he falls away.


Woe to the world because of temptations! For it must be that temptations come, but woe to that man by whom the temptation comes!


Then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another.


Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away on account of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered.’


And if your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away. For it is profitable that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body be thrown into hell.


Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary and the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him.


Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is destined to cause the fall and rising of many in Israel and to be a sign which will be spoken against,


Blessed is he who does not fall away on account of Me.”

and, “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble, because they are disobedient to the word, to which also they were appointed.
