In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for it was Your good pleasure.


“Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me. Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”


Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they divided His clothes by casting lots.


So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.


“Now My soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? Instead, for this reason I came to this hour.


Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.”


Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and He hardens whom He wills.


In Him also we have received an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His own will,


making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself,


according to the eternal purpose which He completed in Christ Jesus our Lord,


who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not by our works, but by His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
