Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria and became ill. So he sent messengers and said to them, “Go, inquire of Baal-Zebub the god of Ekron whether I will recover from this illness.”


But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This Man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons.”


And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, they shall be your judges.


But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons through the ruler of the demons.”


They said to Him, “We can.” Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink the cup that I drink and be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized.


And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebub, and by the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”


But some of them said, “He casts out demons through Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”


If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons through Beelzebub.


Now if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.


Many of them said, “He has a demon and is insane. Why do you listen to Him?”


The people answered, “You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?”


The Jews answered Him, “Do we not rightly say that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”


Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon. Abraham and the prophets died, and You say, ‘If a man keeps My word, he shall never taste death.’
