So his brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.


Then Peter took Him and began rebuking Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord! This shall not happen to You.”


And they asked Him, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must first come?”


But they did not understand the teaching and were afraid to ask Him.


As they came down the mountain, He warned them to tell no one what they had seen, until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.


His disciples did not understand these things at first. But when Jesus was glorified, they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.


Then some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, “What will this babbler say?” Others said, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods,” because he preached Jesus and the resurrection to them.
