The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him.


The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bows, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay those who walk uprightly.


Being previously instructed by her mother, she said, “Give me John the Baptist’s head on a platter.”


In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,


And he swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”


She came in immediately with haste to the king and asked, “I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter at once.”
