Also I shook out the front of my garment and said, “Like this, may God shake out every man from his house and from his labor who does not carry out this promise. Exactly like this, may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the congregation said, “Amen,” and praised the Lord. And the people did according to this promise.


But I say to you that for every idle word that men speak, they will give an account on the Day of Judgment.


He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, remain there until you depart from that place.


Whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”


But when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be upon your heads. I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”


in the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Jesus Christ.


But because of your hardness and impenitent heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself on the day of wrath when the righteous judgment of God will be revealed,


and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, making them an example to those afterward who would live ungodly lives;


then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the Day of Judgment,


But by the same word, the heavens and the earth that now exist are being reserved for fire, kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of the ungodly.


In this way God’s love is perfected in us, so that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world.


Just as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the surrounding cities in like manner, gave themselves to immorality and went after different flesh, they serve as an example by suffering the punishment of eternal fire.
