Sow to yourselves righteousness, reap mercy, break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until He comes and rains righteousness upon you.


Can horses run on a rocky crag? Can one plow the sea with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood,


But he who received the seed on rocky ground is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy,


As he sowed, some seed fell beside the path, and the birds of the air came and devoured it.


But when the sun rose, it was scorched. And because it had no root, it withered away.


Those on the rock are the ones who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root, for they believe for a while, then in the time of temptation fall away.


Some fell on a rock. And as soon as it sprang up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
