Thus says the Lord the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the Lord of Hosts: I am the First, and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.


The Lord has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you will see evil no more.


Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! And cry aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; he is righteous and able to deliver, he is humble and riding on a donkey, a colt, the offspring of a donkey.


So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the exile to Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the exile in Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
