When Abraham’s servant heard their words, he worshipped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth.


And they answered, “Your servant our father is in good health. He is still alive.” And they bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves.


Still, I have preserved seven thousand men in Israel for Myself, all of whose knees have not bowed to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.”


Is it good that He would search you out? Or as one man mocks another, do you so mock Him?


Those who sit in the gate speak against me, and I am the song of the drunkards.


I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath.


Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to the despised one, to the one whom the nation abhors, to the servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord who is faithful and the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.”


I gave my back to those who struck me, and my cheeks to those who plucked out my beard; I did not cover my face from shame and spitting.


Just as many were astonished at you, his visage was so marred, more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men;


Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; he has laid siege against us. With a rod they will strike the judge of Israel on the cheek.


They spit on Him, and took the staff and hit Him on the head.


They will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. Then after three days He will rise.”


Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to strike Him, saying to Him, “Prophesy!” And the guards struck Him with the palms of their hands.


and began to salute Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”


When they had mocked Him, they took the purple robe off of Him and put His own garments on Him. Then they led Him out to crucify Him.


He answered, “Elijah indeed comes first to restore all things. Yet how is it written of the Son of Man that He should suffer many things and be treated with contempt?


The men who guarded Jesus mocked Him and whipped Him.


Then Herod, with his soldiers, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him. Then, dressing Him in a fine robe, he sent Him back to Pilate.


And the soldiers also mocked Him, coming to Him and offering Him sour wine,


But what is the divine reply to him? “I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”


that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,


Therefore let us go forth to Him outside the camp, bearing the reproach that He bore.
