The disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”


Then Jesus sent the crowds away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”


After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother and brought them up to a high mountain alone,


When they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, on the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,


As He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”


Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying, “Teacher, we want that whatever we may ask, You would do for us.”


“Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?”


He took Peter and James and John with Him and began to be greatly distressed and very troubled.


Without a parable He did not speak to them. But when they were alone, He expounded on all things to His disciples.


He let no one follow Him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.


After six days Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John and led them up a high mountain, alone by themselves. And He was transfigured before them.
