When the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brothers.


But Jesus called them together, and said, “You know that those who are appointed to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.


There was also rivalry among them concerning which of them was to be counted the greatest.


He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called benefactors.


Be devoted to one another with brotherly love; prefer one another in honor,


Let nothing be done out of strife or conceit, but in humility let each esteem the other better than himself.


Do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “He yearns jealously for the spirit that lives in us” ?
