Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother; James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother;


Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, in the renewed age, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.


But when He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they fainted and were scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.


The apostles met with Jesus and told him everything, both what they had done and what they had taught.


He called to Him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over unclean spirits.


Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’


so that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers in a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Jesus Christ,
