The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a gluttonous man, a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”


For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?


While Jesus sat at supper in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples.


As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s station. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he rose and followed Him.


As Jesus was at supper in his house, many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples. For there were many, and they followed Him.


Now all the tax collectors and sinners drew near to Him to hear Him.


They prepared a supper for Him there. Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.


If any of those who do not believe invite you to a feast, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for the sake of conscience.
