“I indeed baptize you with water to repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.


His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean His floor and gather His wheat into the granary, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”


John answered them, “I baptize with water, but One stands among you, whom you do not know.


This is He who comes after me, who is preferred before me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”


I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘The One on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’


He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.”


For John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”


While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.


Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear.


For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we are Jews or Gentiles, whether we are slaves or free, and we have all been made to drink of one Spirit.
