For dogs have encompassed me; the assembly of the wicked has encircled me; they pierced my hands and my feet;


And I will pour out on the house of David and over those dwelling in Jerusalem a spirit of favor and supplication so that they look to Me, whom they have pierced through. And they will mourn over him as one mourns for an only child and weep bitterly over him as a firstborn.


and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him, but on the third day He will rise.”

that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying what death He would die.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by being made a curse for us—as it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” —


then his body must not remain all night on the tree, but you must bury him that day (for he that is hanged is accursed of God) so that your land may not be defiled, which the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance.


He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. “By His wounds you were healed.”
