that the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment?


When He entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?”


Then Jesus said to the chief priests, and captains of the temple guard, and the elders who had come for Him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as against a rebel?


Then they arrested Him, and led Him away, and brought Him into the high priest’s house. Peter followed at a distance.


“Now My soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? Instead, for this reason I came to this hour.


Having received the piece of bread, he then left immediately. And it was night.


After this I will not speak much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over Me.


So they tried to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him, because His hour had not yet come.


Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?”


to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’


For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.


He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of His dear Son,
