But the man who touches them must have an iron implement and the shaft of a spear, and they must be burned with fire on the spot.


Let this be the reward of my accusers from the Lord, and of those who speak evil against my soul.


You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”


Then you shall see this, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb; and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward His servants, and His indignation toward His enemies.


A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, the voice of the Lord who renders recompense to His enemies.


The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord takes vengeance on His enemies, and He reserves it for His adversaries;


As a flood running forth, He will bring to an end the distress, and He will pursue His adversaries into darkness.


When the king heard about it, he was angry. He sent in his army and destroyed those murderers and burned up their city.


“But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’


He will come and kill these vinedressers and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard this, they said, “May it not be so!”


For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.


They will fall by the edge of the sword and will be led away captive to all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.


Since that time He has been waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool.


The people said to Samuel, “Who said, ‘Shall Saul reign over us?’ Bring the men, that we may put them to death.”
