He who had received the five talents went and traded with them and made another five talents.


He who had received five talents came and brought the other five talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted to me five talents. Look, I have gained five talents more.’


“He who had received two talents also came and said, ‘Master, you entrusted me with two talents. See, I have gained two more talents besides them.’


“Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Master, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not winnow.


Therefore He said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom and to return.


“But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’


If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.


For am I now seeking the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying to please men? For if I were still trying to please men, I would not be the servant of Christ.
