Four more times they sent for me like this, but I answered them the same way.


But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and begged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”


I say to you, though he will not rise and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as much as he needs.


And a widow was in that city. She came to him, saying, ‘Avenge me against my adversary.’


Those who went in front rebuked him, so that he would keep quiet. But he cried out much more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”


But I bring and keep my body under subjection, lest when preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.


Every day she nagged him with her words and pleaded with him until he was tired to death.
