One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.


Jesus said to him, “If you would be complete, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.”


But one thing is needed. And Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken from her.”


Sell your possessions and give alms. Provide yourselves bags that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.


I say to you, make friends for yourself by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when you fall short, they may receive you into eternal dwellings.


He said, “All these I have kept since my youth.”


When he heard this, he became very sorrowful; for he was very rich.


Then He said to them all, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.


Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,


But, beloved, do not be ignorant of this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as one thousand years, and one thousand years as one day.
