Your testimonies have I taken as my heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing of my heart.


Let Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.


I have chosen the way of faithfulness; Your judgments have I set before me.


I cried out to You, O  Lord; I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”


As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.


One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.


Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You.


This is the end of the matter; all has been heard. Now fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.


For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?


She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to His teaching.


He was praying in a certain place, and when He ceased, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”


“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This night your soul will be required of you. Then whose will those things be which you have provided?’


Sell your possessions and give alms. Provide yourselves bags that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.


So he called him and said, ‘How is it that I hear this about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you may no longer be steward.’


“But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things. But now he is comforted and you are tormented.


When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “Yet you lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.”


Take heed therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given. And whoever has not, from him will be taken even what he thinks he has.”


Now a man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.


Many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.


Then Mary took a pint of very costly ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.


This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.


but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water that I shall give him will become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.”


“Truly, truly I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death into life.


Do not work for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father has set His seal on Him.”


If I give all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.


For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith which works through love.


I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;


If it is displeasing to you to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve, if it should be the gods your fathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites’ land where you are now living. Yet as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”


Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves, that you have chosen the Lord, to serve Him.” Then they said, “We are witnesses.”
