When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a lonely place and the day is now over. Send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy themselves food.”


Then Peter took Him and began rebuking Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord! This shall not happen to You.”


When His family heard of it, they went out to seize Him, for they said, “He is beside Himself.”


As they went, He entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.


But Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.


And do not seek what you will eat or what you will drink, nor be of an anxious mind.


But He turned and rebuked them and said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are of.


Now a man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.


Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.


They prepared a supper for Him there. Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.


Do not work for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
