In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,


For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.


And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom. And the grace of God was upon Him.


And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and men.


I did not know Him, but for this reason I came baptizing with water: so that He might be revealed to Israel.”
