For he grew up before Him as a tender plant and as a root out of a dry ground. He has no form or majesty that we should look upon him nor appearance that we should desire him.


All of us like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way, but the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.


If his gift for a burnt offering is from the flocks, whether from the sheep or from the goats, he shall bring a male without blemish.


Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When an individual among you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering from the livestock, either from the herd or from the flock.


Then he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it up into parts.


Moses diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and behold, it was burned up. And he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left alive, saying,


If his offering is a peace sacrifice, and if he is offering from the herd, whether male or female, then he shall offer it without blemish before the Lord.


He brought the people’s offering, and took the goat which was the sin offering for the people, and slaughtered it, and offered it for sin as the first offering.


To the Israelites you shall speak, saying, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb for a burnt offering, both one year old without blemish,


Or for a ram, you will make a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of flour mixed with one-third of a hin of oil.


For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,


God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
