1 You shall not make for yourselves idols; neither set up a carved image nor a standing stone, nor shall you set up any sculpted stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God.

They set up standing stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree.


They forsook all the commandments of the Lord their God, made themselves cast images (two calves), made an Asherah pole, worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.


and walked in the statutes of the nations, whom the Lord dispossessed before the Israelites, and walked in the statutes which the kings of Israel had made.


For they provoked Him to anger with their high places and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images.


Let all who serve graven images be put to shame, who boast of idols; worship Him, all you gods.


I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.


You shall not make gods of silver alongside Me or make gods of gold for yourselves.


You must not bow down to their gods, or serve them, or do according to their practices, but you shall utterly overthrow them and break down their images in pieces.


You shall make no molded gods for yourselves.


In that day a man shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats,


Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves cast metal gods: I am the Lord your God.


For to Me the Israelites are servants. They are My servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
