Leviticus 13:3 - Modern English Version

3 And the priest shall examine the mark on the skin of the body, and when the hair on the diseased area is white, and the mark appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, then it is a leprous sore. So the priest shall look on him and pronounce him unclean.

He continued on his journey from the Negev and came to Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,


How weak is your heart, says the Lord God, seeing you do all these things, the works of an imperious harlot.


They shall teach My people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.


Foreigners devour his strength, but he does not know it. Gray hairs are here and there upon him, but he does not know it.


so that you may differentiate between what is holy and common and between what is unclean and clean.


And the priest shall examine him, and if there is a white swelling in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling,


When a man has on the skin of his body a swelling, a scab, or spot, and it turns on the skin of his body like a mark of a leprous sore, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests.


And if the priest sees it, and it is deeper than the skin, and the hair has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a leprous sore that has broken out in the boil.


If the spot is white on the skin of his body, and it appears to be no deeper than the skin, and the hair is not white, then the priest shall isolate the person who has the mark for seven days.


And if the priest sees that the scab has spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy.


He shall examine the disease and see if the disease is in the walls of the house with greenish or reddish spots, which appear to go deeper than the wall.


This is the law for all manner of leprous sore and scale,


and for a swelling, or for a scab, or for a spot,


Or when he touches human uncleanness, any uncleanness by which he may become unclean, and he did not realize it, when he realizes it, then he shall be guilty.


Thus says the Lord of Hosts: Now ask the priests concerning the law, saying,


For a priest’s lips should preserve knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of Hosts.


I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”


If you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven them. If you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained.”


Therefore take heed to yourselves and to the entire flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.


What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid! But I did not know sin, except through the law. I would not have known coveting if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”


Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.


But evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.


Remember those who rule over you, who have proclaimed to you the word of God. Follow their faith, considering the results it has produced in their lives.


I will put her children to death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the hearts and minds. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.
