Leviticus 13:2 - Modern English Version

2 When a man has on the skin of his body a swelling, a scab, or spot, and it turns on the skin of his body like a mark of a leprous sore, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests.

May it fall upon the head of Joab and upon all his father’s house. May the house of Joab never be without one who has a discharge, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks food.”


Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Aram, was a great man before his master and held favor because by him the Lord had given deliverance to Aram. He was also a mighty warrior, but he had leprosy.


The leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence, leprous like snow.


From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it. Wounds, bruises, and open sores; they have not been closed, nor bandaged, nor soothed with oil.


therefore, the Lord will strike with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will make their foreheads bare.


And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:


And the priest shall examine the mark on the skin of the body, and when the hair on the diseased area is white, and the mark appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, then it is a leprous sore. So the priest shall look on him and pronounce him unclean.


And if the priest sees that the scab has spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy.


and the priest shall go out of the camp, and the priest shall examine him and see if the disease is healed in the leprous person.


then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, “It seems to me there is some disease in the house.”

For a priest’s lips should preserve knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of Hosts.

When He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.


Then He commanded him to tell no one, “But go and show yourself to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”


Be careful with an outbreak of leprosy, that you diligently observe and do according to all that the Levitical priests instruct you. As I have commanded them, so you must carefully do.


The Lord will strike you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, eczema, and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed.
