Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah. It was from the Lord out of heaven.


So He overthrew those cities, all the valley, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.


It shall be: as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.


Let that man be as the cities which the Lord overthrew and did not relent, and let him hear the cry in the morning and the shout of alarm at noon,


I have seen also among the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing. They commit adultery and walk in lies. They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one repents from his wickedness. All of them are as Sodom to Me and her inhabitants as Gomorrah.


Those killed by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger, for they pine away, stricken for want of the fruits of the field.


By his cunning, he shall cause deceit to succeed under his hand, and he shall magnify himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in a time of peace. He shall also rise up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken, not by human hands.


He has confirmed His words, which He had spoken against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing on us great calamity. For under the whole heaven there has not been done such as has been done to Jerusalem.


For then will be great distress, such as has not happened since the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.


But I say to you, it will be more tolerable on that Day for Sodom than for that city.


“That servant who knew his master’s will, but did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
