For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walks upon a snare.


know now that God has bent me and has surrounded me with His net.


My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with fever.


Let all those who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward.


The proud have hidden a snare for me; they have spread cords as a net; by the wayside they have set traps for me.    Selah


I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within me.


For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away.


Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life. Let them be turned back and confounded who devise evil against me.


I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the disquietness of my heart.


You brought us into the net; You laid afflictions on our backs.


Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire, its head with its legs and its entrails.


They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, who trust in graven images, who say to the molded images, “You are our gods.”


Therefore My fury and My anger was poured out and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are ruined and desolate, as it is this day.


Let all their wickedness come before You, and do to them as You have done to me for all my transgressions; for my groans are many, and my heart is faint.


He has turned aside my ways and torn me in pieces; He has made me desolate.


For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes grow dim;


My net also I will spread upon him, and he shall be taken in My snare. And I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans. Yet he shall not see it, though he shall die there.


I will spread My net upon him, and he shall be taken in My snare, and I will bring him to Babylon and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against Me.


Thus says the Lord God: I will therefore spread out My net over you with a company of many peoples, and they shall bring you up in My net.


Wherever they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the sky; I will discipline them according to the report to their congregation.


Who can stand before His anger? Who will rise up before His burning wrath? His heat is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken up before Him.


I heard, and my body trembled; my lips quivered at the sound; rottenness entered my bones; my legs tremble beneath me. Yet I will wait quietly for the day when calamity comes on the people invading us.


Among these nations you will find no ease, nor will the sole of your foot have rest. But there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul.


in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.


For our God is a consuming fire.
