Today all of you stand before the Lord your God, the heads of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,


your little ones, your wives, and your foreigners who are in your camp, from the one who chops your wood to the one who draws your water —


Now when King Adoni-Zedek of Jerusalem heard that Joshua captured Ai and destroyed it, doing to Ai and its king as he had done to Jericho and its king, and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were among them,
