The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to work.


“Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.


Let us labor therefore to enter that rest, lest anyone fall by the same pattern of unbelief.


Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai (which is near Beth-aven, east of Bethel) and said to them, “Go up and spy on the land.” So the men went up and spied on Ai.


So about three thousand men went up from among the people there, but they fled from before the men of Ai.


Therefore, brothers, diligently make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.


For this reason make every effort to add virtue to your faith; and to your virtue, knowledge;
