The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Uruk, Akkad, and Kalneh in the land of Shinar.


When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasing to the eyes and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she gave to her husband with her, and he ate.


The sons of Jacob came upon the slain and looted the city, because they had defiled their sister.


the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were fair and took as wives any they chose.


One evening when David arose from his bed and was walking on the roof of the king’s house, from the roof he saw a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful.


When these leprous men came to the edge of the camp, they went into one tent. They ate and drank, carried off silver, gold, and clothes, and went and hid them. Then they went back, entered another tent, and carried off things from there and went and hid them.


“I made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I look upon a young woman?


Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity, and revive me in Your ways.


You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.


So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; it takes away the life of its owners.


Stare not into the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly.


He who hastens to be rich has an evil eye, and does not consider that poverty will come upon him.


Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the springs of life.


because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we are in agreement. The overflowing scourge shall not come to us when it passes through, for we have made lies our refuge and under falsehood we have hidden ourselves.”


Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from the Lord and whose works are done in the dark, and they say, “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us?”


“Woe to him who gets evil gain for his house, to set his nest on high, to be delivered from the power of calamity!”


Then He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness. For a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”


For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.


And do not let sexual immorality, or any impurity, or greed be named among you, as these are not proper among saints.


For this you know, that no sexually immoral or impure person, or one who is greedy, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.


You must burn the graven images of their gods with fire. You must not desire the silver or gold that is on them nor take any of it, lest you be snared by them, for it is an abomination to the Lord your God.


Therefore put to death the parts of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.


Let your lives be without love of money, and be content with the things you have. For He has said: “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”


Then, when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin; and when sin is finished, it brings forth death.


Achan answered Joshua and said, “Indeed, I sinned against the Lord, the God of Israel. This is what I did:


So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent; and behold, it was hidden in the tent with the silver underneath.


They have forsaken the right way and have gone astray. They follow the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness,
