27 Joshua said to all the people, “Behold, this stone will be a witness for us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord that He spoke to us. It will be a witness for us, lest you deny your God.”

For destruction from God is a terror to me, and because of His highness I cannot endure.


this also would be an iniquity to be punished by the judge, for I would have denied the God who is above.


lest I be full and deny You, and say, “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor, and steal, and profane the name of my God.


Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth. For the Lord has spoken: I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me;


transgressing, and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.


For the stone will cry out from the wall, and the beam of the woodwork will answer it.


but a whole month, until it comes out at your nostrils, and it will be nauseating to you because you rejected the Lord who is among you and have wept before Him, saying, ‘Why did we come out of Egypt?’ ”


But whoever will deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father who is in heaven.


He answered, “I tell you, if these should be silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”


I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;


“Now therefore write yourself this song and teach it to the Israelites. Put it on their mouths, so that this song may be a witness for Me against the Israelites.


Then when many disasters and troubles have fallen on them, this song will testify against them as a witness, for it must not be forgotten from the mouths of their descendants. For I know their intention which they are developing even now, before I have brought them into the land which I promised.”


“Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, so that it may be there for a witness against you.


Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.


I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will surely and suddenly perish from off the land that you are going across the Jordan to possess. You will not prolong your days on it, but shall be completely destroyed.


They profess that they know God, but in their deeds they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and worthless for every good work.


The descendants of Reuben and Gad named the altar Witness, “For it is a witness between us that the Lord is God.”


Then Joshua sent the people away, each man to his inheritance.


I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it. For you have a little strength, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.


Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen. And he called its name Ebenezer saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
