Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and they will become one flesh.


He was very smitten by Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the girl and spoke kindly to her.


from the nations which the Lord warned the Israelites about, saying, “You shall not go in to them, nor shall they come in to you, for they will surely turn your heart away toward their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.


For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods, and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God as the heart of David his father had been.


As for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, the Lord will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!


The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he has ceased to be wise and to do good.


Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger, they are estranged and backward.


But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered for his trespass that he has committed and in his sin that he has done. In them he shall die.


those who have turned back from following the Lord, who have not sought the Lord nor inquired of Him.


Then it goes and brings with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it be also with this evil generation.”


From that time many of His disciples went back and walked no more with Him.


Let love be without hypocrisy. Hate what is evil. Cling to what is good.


(for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you). Otherwise the anger of the Lord your God will be inflamed against you and destroy you from off the face of the earth.


What is more, you shall not intermarry with them. You shall not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons.


For they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods. Then the anger of the Lord will be inflamed against you, and He will quickly destroy you.


Now be careful, therefore, to love the Lord your God!


Whoever says he is in the light but hates his brother is in darkness even until now.


His father and mother said to him, “Are there no women among your relatives, or all of our people, that you are intending to take a wife from among the uncircumcised Philistines?” Yet Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she pleases me well.”


They took their daughters for themselves as wives, and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.
