Joshua 22:25
13 Tagairtí Cros

There happened to be a worthless man there whose name was Sheba the son of Bichri, a Benjamite. He sounded the trumpet and said, “We have no share in David, nor do we have an inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tents, O Israel.”

So when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people responded to the king, saying, “What portion do we have in David? We also do not have an inheritance in the son of Jesse. Then I answered them, and said to them, “The God of heaven will prosper us. Therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you will have no portion, or right, or memorial in Jerusalem.”

O  Lord, you are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You hold my lot.

You have neither part nor share in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.

“We did this deed because we were worried that in the future your descendants might say, ‘What have you to do with the Lord God of Israel?

“So we said to each other, ‘Let us build this altar, not for burnt offering or sacrifice,

but as a witness for us, for you, and for the generations after us, that we may perform the service of the Lord before Him with our burnt offerings, sacrifices, and peace offerings, and in the future your descendants will not be able to say to our descendants, “You have no share in the Lord!” ’

Now please let my lord king hear the words of his servant. If the Lord has stirred you up against me, let Him accept an offering. But if it was the sons of men, cursed are they before the Lord. For they have driven me today from having a share in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, ‘Go, serve other gods.’
