When Shechem, the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the land, saw her, he took her and lay with her and defiled her.


Now his brothers went to feed their father’s flock in Shechem.


Israel said to him, “Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with the flocks, and bring back word to me.” So he sent him out of the Valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.


And Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all Israel had gone to Shechem to make him king.


Then Jeroboam built Shechem in Mount Ephraim and lived there and went out from there and built Peniel.
