The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your countenance fallen?


Ahab returned home angry and depressed because of the answer Naboth the Jezreelite had given him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He lay down on his bed and sulked and would not eat any bread.


Because there is wrath, beware lest He take you away with a blow; even a great ransom cannot deliver you.


Now this greatly displeased Jonah, and he became angry.


Therefore, Lord, take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.”


So Jonah went out of the city and sat down east of the city and made for himself a booth there. He sat under it in the shade, waiting to see what would happen to the city.


Then God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” And Jonah replied, “It is right for me to be angry, even to death.”


“My people, what have I done to you, and how have I wearied you? Answer Me!


“Aaron will be gathered to his people because he will not enter into the land which I have given to the Israelites because you rebelled against Me at the water of Meribah.


Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’
