Come now, let us kill him and throw him into some pit, and we will say, ‘Some evil beast has devoured him.’ Then we will see what will become of his dreams.”


For even your brothers and the household of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you. Indeed, they have cried aloud after you. Do not believe them though they speak fair words to you.


While He was still speaking to the people, behold, His mother and His brothers stood outside asking to speak with Him.


When His family heard of it, they went out to seize Him, for they said, “He is beside Himself.”


Then His mother and His brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to Him, calling Him.


Then His mother and His brothers came to Him, but could not reach Him, because of the crowd.


Someone told Him, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.”


Both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.


When they heard this, many of His disciples said, “This is a hard saying. Who can listen to it?”


From that time many of His disciples went back and walked no more with Him.


However, after His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He also went up, not publicly, but secretly.


For no one does anything in secret, while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, reveal Yourself to the world.”


For even His brothers did not believe in Him.


But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all you who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.


Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men. And Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, “Why have you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the evil of your heart, for you have come down that you might see the battle.”
