He bought a parcel of a field, where he had pitched his tent, from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of silver.


Moreover, I have given to you one portion more than your brothers, which I took out of the hand of the Amorites with my sword and my bow.”


For the saying that he cried out by the word of the Lord against the altar in Bethel and against all the houses of the high places that are in the cities of Samaria shall surely come to pass.”


and sent messengers ahead of Him. They went and entered a village of the Samaritans to make things ready for Him,


Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, along with his sons and his livestock?”


Many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him, because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”


Jacob’s well was there. Jesus, therefore, being exhausted from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.


For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.


They buried the bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought out of Egypt, in Shechem in the part of the field that Jacob bought from the descendants of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of silver. It became an inheritance of the descendants of Joseph.
