Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men came from the east to Jerusalem,


When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”


Then a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue, came and fell down at Jesus’ feet, and begged Him to come to his house,


Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.


When Mary came to where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”


He left Judea and departed again to Galilee.


This was the second sign that Jesus did when He had come from Judea to Galilee.


Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, pleading, “Do not delay to come to us.”
