“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; for you will go before the presence of the Lord to prepare His ways,


If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’ ”

They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you bore witness, look, He is baptizing, and everyone is going to Him.”


The word which He sent to the Israelites, preaching peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all,


For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with eloquent words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.


The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second man was the Lord from heaven.
