O Zion, bearer of good news, get yourself up onto a high mountain; O Jerusalem, bearer of good news, lift up your voice with strength, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”


But now, thus says the Lord who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.


Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.


Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which was brought upon me, which the Lord has inflicted on the day of His fierce anger.


and when they wove a crown of thorns, they put it on His head and put a staff in His right hand. They knelt before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”


The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!


The soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put a purple robe on Him.


Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
