But I tell you truthfully, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavens were closed for three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land.


“But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”


But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.


“You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and am returning to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice, because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.


And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also.


“But when the Advocate comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me.


When He comes, He will convict the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment:


By this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believe in Him would receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.


Then Peter began to speak, saying, “Truthfully, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.


Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear.


We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.


Our light affliction, which lasts but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
