But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there a prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” Then one of the king of Israel’s servants answered, “Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”


Blessed are those servants whom the master will find watching when he comes. Truly I say to you, he will dress himself and have them sit down to dine, and he will come and serve them.


“Which of you, having a servant plowing or herding sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come now and sit down for dinner’?


Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare my supper, and dress yourself and serve me until I eat and drink. And afterward you will eat and drink’?


For who is greater: he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? But I am among you as He who serves.


So when He had washed their feet, and put on His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?


For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that through His poverty you might be rich.


For this is the message that you heard from the beginning: We should love one another,
