After the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.


But they did not understand the teaching and were afraid to ask Him.


They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what was spoken.


He said to them, “O fools! And slow of heart to believe what the prophets have spoken!


Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.


But they did not understand this statement, and it was hidden from them, so that they did not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask Him about this statement.


Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.


But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.


I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. “I did not tell you these things at the beginning, because I was with you.


And now, O Father, glorify Me in Your own presence with the glory which I had with You before the world existed.


Therefore, when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them. And they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.


By this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believe in Him would receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.


Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear.


“Therefore, let all the house of Israel assuredly know that God has made this Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”


The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus, whom you handed over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.


Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.


Now this is the main point of the things that we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,
