He says, “It is a light thing that you should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make you a light to the nations so that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”


To the law and to the testimony; if they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.


But if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. Therefore, if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!


If your whole body, then, is full of light, no part being dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”


In Him was life, and the life was the light of mankind.


This man came as a witness in order to testify concerning the Light, that all men through Him might believe.


I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not remain in darkness.

There was much complaining among the people concerning Him. For some said, “He is a good Man.” Others said, “No, He deceives the people.”


If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.


Yet a new commandment I am writing to you, which holds true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.


And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true —His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
