I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found of those who did not seek Me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that did not call on My name.


Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew, the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus; and Lebbaeus, whose name was Thaddaeus;


Now when Jesus heard that John was put in prison, He left for Galilee.


But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their dead.”


As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s station. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he rose and followed Him.


For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”


These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.


The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!


Again, the next day John was standing with two of his disciples.


The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.


Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.


They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”


Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that is sufficient for us.”


This, the first of His signs, Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and He revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.


When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming to Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread that these may eat?”


Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for each of them to receive but a little.”


Not that I have already attained or have already been perfected, but I follow after it so that I may lay hold of that for which I was seized by Christ Jesus.


We love Him because He first loved us.
